Welcome to the SHED!

Activities for children at Stave Hill Eco Park in Rotherhithe

Pavement mosaics

On Saturday 11 August Summer had arrived at last and SHED was basking in the sun. Our main activity was outdoors, so we were abe to enjoy the fluttering butterflies and buzzing insects on the meadow as we worked. French volunteers had spent Friday digging out selected paving stones on the patio and we were ready for local children to create pavement mosaics. The adults mixed up cement in one of the multi-purpose wheelbarrows. Some fantastic artworks were created and the pavement is now decorated by, amongst other things, a dragonfly, a cat, a turtle, flowers and hearts. The beautiful new creations join mosaics added more than 5 years ago by former Kids @Stave Hill, we wonder what they are doing now and hope they remember their Saturday spent creating beautful mosaics for us all to enjoy!
